Duo Emersi: Place Based Musical Storytelling
with Grace Alexander
Will and Grace perform as a violin/piano duo seeking to honor place and local ecology. Recent performances include a collaboration with author Cláudio Carvalhaes, choreographers Martha Chapman and Apollonia Holzer, and clarinetist Raphael Zimmerman to create Elements: Weaving the Earth. They also collaborated with musicology PhD students and producers Michele Yamamoto and Emmie Head at the University of California Los Angeles to create FirebirthLA to commemorate the devastating fires in LA in the winter of 2024. They also performed the suite of music from Elements at the inaugural Knapweed Music Festival in Plains, Montana. They also collaborated with the Santa Clara Valley Open Space Authority to create and record a suite of music about Coyote Valley in the South Bay Area.
They have also performed Firebirth at the Scheherezade Music Festival in Manhattan, Kansas as well as at the University of British Columbia. They have performed more diverse programs in Bellingham, Seattle, and Santa Clara, CA.

Coming Home
For as long as I can remember, the piano has been my home, my safety, my joy, and my place of rest. I come to the piano to pour out all of the joys and sorrows of life.
At the piano, I am a creative collaborator, a chamber musician, a solo artist, and an improviser.
